Dar Basma’s glass façade and outdoor seating among the palms at night

In the historic heart of Hofuf, on the edge of the Qasr Ibrahim park, Dar Basma occupies an old house known as Manzil Al-Afsah, dated by the restaurant to more than a hundred years. The house was restored with contemporary touches that kept its character, and its features remain in view: handmade tiling on the staircase, arched windows, upper skylights, and restored plaster walls carrying heritage pieces. The restaurant began in 2018 around the idea of reviving Hasawi cooking and presenting it under a contemporary brand, under the line "the taste of home". Its own menu highlights Hasawi rice from local farms, slow-cooked broths, and seasonal dates. After Al-Ahsa the brand extended to Madinah, and a branch in Makkah has been announced. Outdoor seating among the palms sits on the edge of the park.
