Ratio Al-Koot

Ratio is a coffee brand that began in Al-Ahsa: it launched in 2018 from the middle of the oasis city and later spread to other Saudi cities. Its Al-Koot branch sits inside the Qaisariyah Souq, and the brand describes it as the first working example of what it calls "cultural Ratio". The branch's architecture echoes the old Al-Koot fort, which the brand dates to roughly three hundred years, and old Hasawi engravings run through the interior. Its seating areas carry the names Al-Ahsa's households once gave the parts of their homes, among them al-kindiyyah and al-areesh. Alongside specialty coffee it serves dishes and sweets long known in Al-Ahsa. In November 2024 the Saudi Tourism Authority listed it among its recommendations for the Saudi Winter season.
