Sinyar

Sinyar stands on Al-Khaleej Road in Al-Uwaimriyah, Hofuf, and presents itself as a seafood restaurant — its line on its own accounts reads "a sea voyage in every dish", and its name on X is Sinyar Seafood Restaurant. The word sinyar comes from the maritime heritage of the Arabian Gulf. It is used for the many vessels moored together in a harbour, and also for two ships that agree to sail in company so that each may watch over the other's safety; its use is not confined to the sea, extending to the travel of caravans overland. The same word gives its name to a diving and pearl-fishing festival in Qatar. The restaurant itself has not stated why it chose the name. It has more than one location in Al-Ahsa, and this page is about the Al-Uwaimriyah branch.
