Women's Folk Souq

A folk market run by local women vendors in central Hofuf, with some 122 stalls over roughly 15,000 square metres.

In the South Rifaa district of Hofuf lies the Women's Folk Souq, a traditional market whose stalls are run by local women. It covers a total area of roughly 15,000 square metres at the heart of the old Suwaiq market area and holds about 122 stalls, allocated by the vendors' own choice without rents imposed on them. Al-Ahsa Municipality has carried out development works on the souq, which remains one of Hofuf's living folk-trade scenes, selling clothes and everyday goods.
