South of Hofuf lies the museum of Saleh bin Abdullatif Al-Dhafar, a private museum whose folk-heritage collection was gathered over more than thirty-five years — rare pieces arranged across sections for hospitality and coffee, farming and irrigation, weapons, cooking vessels, and traditional dress and jewellery. What sets it apart is its celebrated scouting museum, described as the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia: scouting pieces spanning uniforms, neckerchiefs, badges, whistles, compasses, certificates and documentary photographs, tracing decades of the scouting movement. Together the two collections make it one of Al-Ahsa's most distinctive private museums.
