In the village of Al-Tahimiyah, among Al-Ahsa's eastern villages near Al-Qarah Mountain, this mosque is one of the surviving old mud-built mosques of a village once famed as 'the village of forty mosques', of which only around eleven remain. Al-Tahimiyah's mosques are traditional structures of mud and palm trunks, and two of them — the East and West mosques — are listed in Al-Ahsa's official register of historic mosques. The details of this particular mosque's founding date and builder are awaiting confirmation from documented sources.
